LOVE LIFE Art Exhibition is AVM Hawkins’ tribute to her favorite city in the entire Universe through Abstract Art. New Orleans has never been expressed through abstraction—through formless movement, emotion, color, and feeling created through the subconscious. Through Love Life, AVM wanted to provide a real emotional sentiment, visually of this vibrant, cultured city from someone who truly knows, “What It Means to Miss New Orleans.” This essence, to LOVE LIFE is transferred, expressed and abundantly radiates through and from AVM’s art. Through LOVE LIFE art exhibition, AVM strives to capture the joy, musicality, artistry, vibrancy, and energy of New Orleans through color, movement, visceral, emotional, and authentic, extemporaneous self-expression. LOVE LIFE is an artistic manifestation of AVM’s personal connection to New Orleans as a born and raised New Orleanian, a proud Houstonian, an Artist, and a fellow Lover of Life.

The mantra for New Orleans is: LOVE LIFE.
The essence of New Orleans has been ingrained in my soul since the day I was born. New Orleans is the place of my birth and the origin of my Creole heritage of French, Spanish, African and Native American descent. I have lived my whole life in New Orleans, until Hurricane Katrina ravished the Louisiana and Mississippi coast and nearly destroyed the city of New Orleans. There is a Spirit of New Orleans, that is buoyant, vibrant, and resilient in spite of death, devastation, and despair. New Orleans, not only embodies inclusiveness and diversity in culture, race, personality, artistry, expression and sexuality, New Orleans melds them all into, One Race, One Culture, and One Love. New Orleans represents our true identity as Human Beings, who Love Life. New Orleans is the city that touches my soul artistically, culturally and spiritually. New Orleans never fails to remind me of my dream to be and to express myself as an Artist. The thought of New Orleans, reminds me to live fully present and immensely grateful for my life and for all of my beloved family and friends. I am reminded of what is most important—to cherish each moment, to enjoy every second, and to Love my Life.
LOVE LIFE created within two months, with two (60 inched by 6 yards) rolls of canvas and lots of layers of texture and paint to create an all brand new body of work inspired by the Spirit of New Orleans. With this new body of work, it is my intention to convey to the viewer the vibrancy and energy of what it feels to LOVE LIFE.
It my intention for LOVE LIFE art exhibition to exude positive energy and love to every viewer, every space and to one’s home.
