The Abstract Show at Hardy / Nance
Today I was deeply honored to have two works selected for the juried show, The Abstract Art Show at Hardy / Nance Studios.
I love Hardy / Nance Studios. Tonight was my second time visiting Hardy / Nance. Just like my first experience, right as I step foot inside the door, I was bombarded by excellent, awe inspiring art. I felt an instant rush of inspiration and a mental expansion of what is possible in art and creativity.
There is truly an energy of community and creativity that permeates the building. I´ve nearly forgotten why I was there, I just wanted to take my time and take it all in.
As I approached the main gallery, the show was flooded with people and with incredible art. I was pleasantly surprised to see my work immediately as I walked in to my right. I barely recognized them as mine, until microseconds later. Maybe it was something about seeing them in a different setting, curated by a different person, while having the pleasure to enjoy the show as a fellow art lover and artist off the clock.
I really enjoyed just walking, in stealth mode, sliding in and out between folks, positioning myself where I can take in each piece. I love abstract art. I love discovering how certain colors, textures and contracts of colors and movement, stimulates my oratory senses. I can feel my mind expanding and becoming inspired by the infinite increasing possibilities. Needlesstoday, I enjoyed my evening.
For the Abstract Show, two of my works were selected, The Artist Formally Known As AVM and Love Your Life.
Ironically, these are the only two works of art that have predominant tones of purple in them, and for whatever reason, it never occurred to me to place them together. They are truly the perfect pairing for a memorable evening.
