Wave of Creation

H working in the studio.

My son has been the reason for my new wave of creation lately.

H has been eager to hang out in the studio, and has been surprisingly, pretty well entertained in there. It seems like he views entering the studio, like going outside for a walk. It’s as if we left the house and entered into a new space, a new area to play and explore.

And indeed, we have.

We share the ritual of putting on paint clothes before entering the studio, ready and able to get into all the things without fear of damaging cherished outfits, welcoming splatter paint as part of the day’s work.

I’ve been able to paint and work on several items while also keeping a keen eye on my ‘assistant.’

Every now and then, Harry strays away from his coloring books to contribute important crayon and scented marker contributions on my abstract works in progresses. Many of these contributions are graciously welcomed in the studio, while I try to ensure safety of the works that I desire to preserve.

With H’s presence, I’ve been able to spend more time in the studio, picking up from where I’ve left off the day, or hours before.

It’s always great to complete new work, but I must say, I’m always so grateful to feel the wave of energy to create again.

Good vibrations.
