When I view “Weightless,” I see and feel a lightness, an “air” about it, as if a figure or energy is being lifted up, higher and higher, as if to fly or rise. Wednesday Night, I and my husband Mark, had the distinguished pleasure of installing art 🖼 by our dearly loved friends, @ray_of_light_1986 and @czarcasmo. I am so honored to have “Aligned” with them in their home, and for it to be the first significant work of art they’ve purchased together and have displayed on their mantelpiece. We had such an amazing evening of dinner and martinis. 🍸 . . . . “Aligned” represents being in alignment with what you want, synchronicity, and divine timing. Aligned was the second painting I’ve created during the @johnpalmerart Escapist Mentorship Program last year. @artlaunchorg During that time, I’ve felt like I was finally in my “sweet spot,” as @oprah would describe. I’ve felt like I was in the right place and in the right time—and I knew I was going to give my all during the program. I’ve felt grateful, and ready, like my whole life, prepared me for this moment, the chance I’ve always dreamed about. After meeting @ray_of_light_1986 and @czarcasmo , now it is so clear, that this particular painting was (unbeknownst to me) specifically created for them. It was meant for them, and I was meant to meet and to know them. I cannot say how many times I have felt that with all the people I’ve met this past year. It is so crazy, how beautiful my life is unfolding, just by taking the steps, to express and to live, my life, authentically. I feel so blessed. . . . . @ray_of_light_1986 & @czarcasmo, ya’ll are both two of the most positive, open, giving and kindest guys, I’ve gotten to know. You both have the most beautiful souls, and I feel so very blessed to have met you both, to get to know you through my art, and to call you friends. I’m very excited to have “Sunset” and “Home” packaged & shipped to a Happy Home. These beauties are two originals on Paper, acquired online on my website & online gallery: AVMHawkins.com. . . . . “Sunset” (the first picture) was drawn freely by hand, and completed with the use of watercolor and a black Pilot Pen. “Sunset” was created this past Christmas at my grandparents home in Hammond, La. It was my first time packing art supplies when preparing for travel. I painted it while spending time with the people I love. . . . . “Home” is an original work on paper created with Acrylic paint. It was created in my Chrysalis studio during my time at @johnpalmerart Escapist Mentorship Program. The quote, organically and naturally written, led to the inspiration for the name of this piece. The sentence says, “What is it that makes this place feel like home?” I can’t remember what inspired me exactly to write that, but it’s an excellent question to ask. When I think of the places that make me feel like home, I would say, it is the Love, that envelops the space. It is the Love given and received in that space, by friends, spouses, family members that make a place feel like home. . . . I wish lots of love to the home these beauties are headed to.
