Unveiling the Inner Deity

Unveiling the Inner Deity by AVM Hawkins

Recently my team delivered and installed one of my top favorite paintings of all time, “ Unveiling the Inner Deity.” I love the soothing blue hues and the water like paint drip technique, providing vibes of peace and tranquility. “Unveiling the Inner Deity” is an original painting that pays homage to the Hindu God, Ganesha, “The Remover of Spiritual Obstacles.”

I discovered Ganesha with my husband Mark several years ago during a trip to New Orleans, LA. About a year prior to our trip, I was naturally drawn towards and purchased a turquoise necklace, (unbeknownst to me), of the Hindu God Ganesha at my favorite resale vintage shop, Funky Monkey on Magazine St. I loved this necklace and wore it often.

Hence, during my trip with Mark, during a stroll through the French market in the Quarters, a merchant commented on my necklace. She informed me of the Deity it contained, and (conveniently) sold us an incense holder and relic of Ganesha and Shiva, providing us information on it.

This happenstance moment ultimately led me to buying incense cones for the first time, which led me to developing a meditation practice, deepening my own personal spiritual connection to myself and all things.

Like meditation, it is my hope that “Unveiling the Inner Deity,” inspires the self-discovery of the divinity in all of us, the inner goodness, limitless abilities and possibilities within all of us.

This very special and meaningful painting to me, could not have found a more perfect owner. She has and always conveys a calming, kind, loving energy everytime I see or speak with her. It always fascinates me how certain paintings always seem to find the right owner, as if it is not only the collector who chooses the painting, but also the painting choosing its patron. I am very grateful to call the owner of this painting a soul sister, and a very dear friend. I am very grateful “Unveiling the Inner Deity,” has been placed in a wonderful home.
