Half-Priced Books

My dad came in town from New Orleans, and stayed for a few days.

My dad’s list of things to do, included: dinner at Pappadeux’s, Frenchy’s Fried Chicken, a visit to Half-Priced Books and Barnes & Nobles.

My dad loves books.

And I’ve received my love for coffee, coffee shops and books stores from him.

My earliest memories are waking up early in the morning to catch a glimspe of my dad sitting at his desk working. In like fashion, my dad set up his work station at our dining room table.

Whenever we are together, a trip to a book store has become our tradition.

And Half-Priced Books has quickly become a favorited spot.

I found some really great finds, all in the clearance section.

There’s something special about browsing a book store.

Each book is a physical form of ideas and possibilities just waiting to be acted upon.

My interests, my natural gravitations toward a section or subject, says so much about me—about who I desire to be, or desire to do next.

It exposes my thoughts, and maybe, even dreams.

The books I pick up, and place back…

The books I decide to keep…

The books I vow to come back for…

There’s a world of infinite possibilities, all waiting of me in my mind’s eye…that at any moment could trigger an impulse to take action towards something I deeply desire to create in my life.

Below are photos of the books I decided to take home.

Books, in many ways, are a starting point for manifestation.

They are essential for the creation process.

To pick up a book, flip through its pages, and decide to take it home…to read and marinate upon the thoughts the words ignite inside one’s mind…

I become in love with the world inside my mind-discovering that it’s a real place I can go and explore at any time.

When I re-emerge, I return a new person—changed, evolved.

New.
