The Hill at Sims

A few weeks ago, my family went to the unveiling of a new, 30 million dollar park, Hill at Sims, in Sunnyside 5th Ward Houston.

“Hill at Sims, a new 100-acre regional park, is located on the site of a Harris County Flood Control stormwater detention basin along Sims Bayou and Scott Street in southern Harris County.

The Office of Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis and Houston Parks Board have constructed a system of pedestrian trails and other amenities for the site.

This greenspace serves a dual purpose that both protects homes and businesses during severe weather and provides access to safe, healthy recreational opportunities for everyone to enjoy.” - Houston Parks Board

We strolled the bike path up the hill and enjoyed the view of the Houston Skyline.

In this season, I enjoy being in nature as much as possible, and I especially love when I’m able to share those moments as a family.

The park is absolutely beautiful. The views breathtaking—instantly becoming our new favorite place to exercise and enjoy Houston.

I look forward to family bike rides in our future.

Whenever you desire to go for your next run, walk or bike ride, definitely check out this new trail.
