First Week of School
This week was my son’s first week of school.
The upside of this new life transition was that I spent four days in a row inside my studio, uninterrupted.
It wasn’t until today where I realized how much I missed the solitude of my studio and the ability to think, explore, and to process emotions through art.
I felt like myself again, and am very excited for my new schedule.
Here are a few photographs from my time in this studio this week.
The studio is the place where I typically work on larger, expressionistic works of art.
These works contain several layers of paint and texture and are created over large a span of time.
Each layer is all-intensive.
I move on to the next work as a layer dries in the sun for a previous work.
I’ve recently begun painting in my journals, adding separate individual layers, similar to a painting.
These studies allow me to practice, and to preserve works for my own collection and enjoyment.
Journaling keeps me loose, and in flow.
It feels so good to be back.
I am excited and hopeful what this year will bring from a creative standpoint.
Wishing you a great weekend.
