I’ve recently posted a reel on my social media that filmed me painting from my point of view.

I literally had the phone in my left hand, while filming me painting with my right.

I’ve been able to work in the studio a lot lately, which is where I tend to create my abstract work.

Here, I can get messy, pull out materials, paint…leave them and return to them—picking up where I left off.

The work tends to unfold before me as I paint.

I never know how a work will look like in the end.

The process is the part I find most exciting. And I think if I knew how the painting will look like in the end, I would probably never finish it.

I really love getting close to the work, and seeing all the tiny nuances and details that happen; there are layers and layers of movement and marks, texture and time.

These photos really capture what I see as I work.

The small details in each section, I get lost in.

These nuances add up, and become revealed to the viewer, as they gain closer.

There are always infinite possibilities of how a painting could emerge from a session. There are so many minute decisions to be made and pathways to explore.

This is what makes painting so exciting for me.
