Painting Rusting Ironwork

I hate wasting paint.

The mission to not waste paint, usually dictate my color palette for paintings or random things that I find that could use a coat of paint.

Enter rusting ironwork that decorates our backyard fence. Time for a pop of color. :)

I decided to use some left over paint colors from working in the studio to touch up some faded yard decor.

AVM’s helper.

I am very lucky that my studio assistant is always ready to zealously jump in to “help.”

It’s nice to incorporate non-work, personal, creative projects in the mix of preparing for an exhibition. (July 2025) ;)

It keeps things fun and light; but creatively it’s very natural for me to do so.

When I have leftover paint that is not ready to be applied anymore to a set work or works of art, I usually search for something, to paint on. Usually, I begin a new painting on canvas or paper, using the color as an initial layer.

Or, in this case, I’ve found some cool yard stuff to paint on , that will also beautiful our space.

Below is one of the finished products.

Wishing you a great day.

Always,

AVM
