Morning Reading: The Power of Positive Thinking

Morning reading view.

This morning I was inspired to read a few pages from Norman Vincent Peale’s '“The Power of Positive Thinking.”

I added this book again to my Audible daily reading list, and decided to pull out the book as well read the physical copy along with it.

I am pretty sure that the audio I’m listening to, is not of the entire book, which I am glad that I am also taking the time to explore both versions.

“The Power of Positive Thinking” is a classic book.

But I purchased it a long time ago, alongside “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, because my grandpa recommended these two books.

My grandpa, Buddy, was the smartest and most fearless man I’ve ever known.

Today I read and highlighted an affirmation in the book, “I can do all things with Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.

This particular passage was always very important to me. I attended Cabrini High School in New Orleans, and St. Francis Cabrini church often as a child.

This was Mother Cabrini ‘s mantra and favorite bible verse, which she was known for repeating often: “I can do all things with Christ.”

This verse always brought me peace and resilience during tough times in the past, but one I’ve honestly have not repeated to myself in quite some time.

I couldn’t help but feel that it was placed before me today, as a sweet reminder to continue to use it as my mantra as well.

The line is often written as, “I can do all things with God.” And I believe there are many names, and images to attempt to define God, and that we are all seeking the words and ways to explain and describe the same Creative Force in which all things are made.

Regardless of one’s personal definition or perspective of God, the quote implies support by a friendly and supportive Universe.

Wishing you a day, where things go your way, and that you feel loved and supported in your endeavors.

Wishing you a great one.
