Was In Greece Again...
For a few moments, I was in Greece Again.
It was Sunday morning, last week.
My son woke up and found me in the kitchen.
Still sleepy, I carried him outside to lay down on our garden sofa to help him slowly wake up to the crisp cool sunny day.
It gave me a sweet moment to lay down as well, relax and take a break from my endless weekend to do list.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous.
The sun was shining, but not yet hot.
The birds were singing, and there was a slight breeze.
Spring is here.
The feeling triggered a memory of me sitting outside at our villa in Tinos, Greece, three years ago.
The memory was so potent within my body, that as I relaxed and closed my eyes, I transported myself back, sitting in the sun, overlooking the sea below.
This experience made me remember another thought I had the day before, while drinking my coffee—dripped coffee with a shot of espresso and brown sugar.
The thought was about my first time living in Spain, and how Spain wasn’t necessarily just a physical location on the planet, but an experience—a mentality—a mantra or philosophy that I desired to apply in all aspects of my day-to-day life.
If only, I could remember…
Remember and then tap into the same feeling, of who I was, and how connected I felt in that moment, when I was there.
Just like New Orleans, or New York, or Spain or Greece…(insert your favorite place)…there is a state of mind, and a way of being, that is more powerful, and infinite, that can live inside of anyone of us.
We can tap into this energy—to this inspiration at any point in time.
I didn’t have to go far.
It was a nice reminder that there’s no need to leave the country or travel far for peace—peace of body, soul and mind.
Peace is closer than one may think.
