What I Love Most About Being An Artist

What I love most about being an Artist, is that I can apply creativity to EVERYTHING I do.

I can be creative with designing my logo, my letterhead, my emails, my handwritten letters.

I get to be creative with how I take photographs—of me, my environment, my artwork.

I can be creative with my social media, my website, my exhibitions.

I design everything.

It’s such a powerful and liberating idea to approach everything I do from a place of authenticity, joy, inspiration and creativity.

Art makes me happy.

And ideally, if someone is engaging with art, whether that’s in person or online—there is an opportunity to experience love and light in one’s day.

The truth I hear, often, is: “an artist is an entrepreneur and a brand.”

Anytime when one sets out to create something there will be challenges and hardships.

It is not easy to create an idea or pursue a goal that originated in your heart.

Many times, I had to remind myself, that I am living my dream—the dream I once dreamt about and never imagined I could actually pursue and achieve.

But one thing about achieving one’s dreams or goals, is that it takes even more grit, focus, drive and tenacity to keep, maintain and grow it.

Fear can set in, and be overwhelming.

Art, love, inspiration, and taking time for the little things that spark joy is so important to help recenter ourselves and remind us that everyday we have the opportunity to do something we love and enjoy time with the people we love.

The other day, I was thinking about of how much I love that I get to be an artist in all aspects of my work.

With every interaction— every email, note, or post online, I get to design and curate a creative experience.

I get to share my love and joy for art with others.

And that is Everything.

I was reminded of how grateful I am for every moment I am able to create or take time to seek and enjoy inspiration in my day-to-day life.

Art is something that can serve as a reminder, that in the mist of everything that can happen during the day and in the world, we can still seek and maintain little pockets of light, love and joy.

Wishing you love and light, today and always.
